43 Weeks
Isaac is now 43 weeks old!
Updates on our doodlebug:
* Completely out of 6-9 month clothing now! He's wearing 6-12 month or 12 month and in size 4 diapers. Some shirts are small on him due to his wide shoulders and beefy arms.
* Crawling very fast these days. When it was time for dinner last night, he crawled from the living room to the dining room, and put his hands on his highchair. This morning, I caught him standing up on his arms and legs... I wonder if he was trying to walk like a crab? ;)
* Pulls himself up to standing occasionally... usually while climbing up his daddy. He's very persistent, though and seems to think the enertainment center is the best place to try and pull up on. I thought he might use his Leapfrog music table. But, he's so tall that he can reach most of the toys on that just by kneeling or up on one knee.
* Gives kisses, hugs, high fives, and will even clap for me after I finish singing him a song. :)
* Cries whenever I try to put him in his beloved Jumperoo. I knew the time would come when he didn't want to be confined. But, I'm sad he's outgrown it. Per his doctor's office instructions, we've also taken away his exersaucer/walker (to encourage good early walking habits).
* Loves to look at books and have books read to him! He will go over to the basket with books and just go through each one at a time. His favorite right now is one that has a finger puppet of a bee (Thanks, Aunt Chrissy!). I've been working on showing him how to turn pages, open flaps, etc.
* Having some issues with the dogs now that he's more mobile. We have to watch him very carefully because he'll take their chewees away while they are eating them. He then tries to "feed" them back to them... but, still... not so good. When he's touching something he's not supposed to, I tell him, "Isaac, no. No touch." He seems to really understand (But doesn't always listen the first time, of course.).
* Enjoys playing with his stacking cups and shape sorters. He's into putting toys into things and trying to open and close everything.
* Eating more finger foods! He fed themself baby goldfish crackers, chunks of nectarine, bits of cheese, and bits of green beans last week. Fruit or veggie puffs are still a huge hit... his arms waves with excitement when he sees a container. His strategy is to hoard as many puffs in his fists as he can and then he'll eat them.
* Still teething and being a drool monster. I've been giving him teething tablets and lots of stuff to chew on. Hope tooth #2 will finally cut this week!
Enjoy the new pictures!!
Oh, I just love when he gets the giggles!
Great job, buddy!
High fives with daddy
