42 Weeks

Isaac is now 42 weeks old!

Updates on our sweet baby boy:

* Crawling all the time now! He's really picked up speed and loves to crawl to get toys or to pester the dogs. When he's really excited about being in pursuit of something, he'll scrunch up his face and snort in excitement. If he's not crawling, he's busy trying to find something to pull up on. Still no standing yet on his own. But, he's a very determined little boy and I am sure it will happen this week.

* Started making his toy cars "go" on the floor and has also gotten really into his shape sorter toys. The one my mom found has a lid. So, he loves to take the lid off over and over again, of course. I give him the circle shape and show him how to drop it into the circular opening. He'll drop it in, look in the container through the openings, take the lid off, and fish the circle back out.
So far, he can do the circles and square shapes on his own. :)

* Still saying "mama," "dada," the "h" sound for "hi," and the "b" sound for "bye." His little coos and babbles are adorable sometimes... especially when he "talks" to his stuffed animals.

* Loves to clap his hands, give high fives, and wave to people (sometimes with two hands for emphasis, you know). ;)

* Enjoys looking at books with mommy... bonus points for those that have flaps, textures, play music, or have animals in them.

* Prefers his Laurie Berkner Band dvd over Baby Einstein these days. One of his favorite songs is called "Moon, Moon, Moon." I'll admit, it is a good song. I learned the words so that I can sing it to him when he's fussy.

* May be moving to the church nursery very soon. The little bugger was very, very active last week. He thoroughly enjoyed blowing spit bubbles and making silly noises for the people behind us. LOL He stood up, holding onto the edge of the pew and was very vocal a few times. Not bad, just loud and very squirmy. He's gotten difficult to keep still lately because he just wants to go explore everything.

* Has only been sleeping 7 1/2- 7 3/4 hours a night, much to my disapproval. I think it's due to his new mobility. When he wakes up, he crawls around in his crib or tries to pull himself up on the rails.

* Drooling up a storm and so I anticipate tooth #2 soon!

* Discovered how to remove his highchair tray today... stinker butt! I knew there was a reason I strapped him in! The train is hard to move! You have to lift up and pull out at the same time. Somehow, he's figured out how to take it off himself. LOL

Enjoy the new pictures!!

This is the suck in his top lip and look like a hillbilly face.
"Um, mom. What was that?" (Yobaby yougurt)
We enjoyed some beautiful Indian summer weather yesterday with tons of time in the sun. :) Thanks for checking in!!

Chey likes her shape sorter too. She is funny though if the piece doesn't fit, she tries to make it . It eventually gets a little stuck and stays. If that doesn't work she just puts it through the biggest hole, the elephants trunk. LOL.

Way to go Isaac on crawling and pulling your self up. You certainly are growing up fast.

He is starting to remind me of his cousin Aveline. Not quite, but he likes to go, go, go.....
