Good Luck!

Just wanted to wish my husband GOOD LUCK on his first day at his new job. He officially starts tomorrow. For those who don't know, Josh is moving onto another company. He'll have the same position(as a project manager at a construction company)... but, hopefully less work and less stress. He was overworked and under-appreciated at his last job. The new company will be paying him more, giving us better health insurance, and allowed us to purchase a new car.

Thumbs up to Josh... great job! I hope you are happy with the new job! I'm sure it will be great!

Saturday In BG

We spent the whole day in Bowling Green at Josh's dad Mike and Stepmom Brenda's house... Isaac was pretty well behaved. He did get a little fussy because his nap schedule was a bit off. But, overall.. he had a good time visiting everyone and we did, too! Enjoy the pictures!

Isaac with his Grandma W
A bit sleepy here... but, Grandpa W was so happy to have two of his grandkids in his arms! Isabella is 19 months now and is as cute as ever.
I took a series of pictures for Josh's dad and then created a card for him (from the baby). Isaac was a ham holding the sign and we even had him put a handprint in the card as his signature.
It was a big hit. :)
Mike, Heather (Josh's sister), and Josh
Isaac's Great Grandpa P came for lunch, too!
So did Brenda's sister, Cindy.... she enjoyed spending time with the baby.
I loved getting to see our adorable niece, Isabella.
She had fun playing with the toys Grandma and Grandpa W have for the kids.
She was also very interested in "Baby Isaac." Look at him checking her out, too! LOL
They were like magnets. Isaac almost flopped himself right on top of her to get a better look. Hee, hee!
It was a great visit. Isaac enjoyed visiting with everyone and as you can see, they were happy to see him, too. Here he is with his Aunt Heather.

Really?

Tomorrow, we're going to visit Isaac's Grandpa W for his birthday.

Really?
Cool!

For The Dedicated Isaac Fans

Okay, folks... more videos! Actually, almost ALL of the little videos I've taken of Isaac over the past month. If you go to the right side of your screen, it's at the bottom of the links and it's called "Videos." I really just did this for the grandparents. Oh, and for our family and friends who live far away and haven't met the baby yet.

The video runs about 15-20 minutes long and is made up of mini movies that are anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes long each. If you choose to watch, I'm warning you that you'll have to put up with my "baby voice" as I try to get Isaac to make noises for the camera. Enjoy! LOL

Dude, You're Going To Hollywood

For whatever reason, Isaac is a huge fan of my singing. Anyone who knows me know that I cannot sing. But, alas... my baby adores my voice (even if I'm pitchy).

Currently, his favorite songs are:

*Skidamarink
*You Are My Sunshine
*Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
*Head, Sholders, Knees, and Toes

He also loves any of the songs from his Leapfrog caterpillar toy (Thanks, Aunt Beckie!) and any song that I change the words to and fill in his name.

Last night while watching American Idol, I asked Josh a silly question. There was one guy who sang a song that his parents used to sing to him. So, I asked, "What if Isaac goes on American Idol someday and sings... Skidamarinky dinky dink, skidamardinky doo...?" Hee, hee... Josh and I had some good laughs imagining what the judges would say about that song choice.

Any good kid songs you know of that you'd like to share, dawg?

He Inherited What?

As Isaac is getting older, he's starting to resemble his dad more and more... a mini Joshie with mommy's eyes, if you will. ;)

There are three extremely random and funny physical traits that Isaac inherited from Josh. We noticed them when he was just a week old!

1. A little bump on just one of his ears (Josh only has one bump, too).

2. A dark patch of hair on his back (Josh has two, LOL).

and the strangest...

3. A large toenail that grows in funny and is a pain to cut (Josh has just one, too).

Babies, Babies, and More Babies

Big news I've been meaning to post... First of all, Congrats to our neighbors Jenn & Chris on the birth of their baby boy, Christopher James.

Here's Jenn with Isaac and CJ.... my baby's the cranky one. Ha, ha!
Also, a big Congrats to Josh's brother Dan and his wife Kristi! They are expecting baby #2 this September! Lastly, a big Congrats to our neighbors John & Michelle. They are also expecting baby #2 (in July) and we can't wait! Tons of kiddos for Isaac to play with!

What A Cutie!

While we were at my mom's house a couple of weeks ago, my cousin Janet did a photo shoot with the baby (as a baby shower gift to us!). She enjoys photography as a hobby and is really quite good! Isaac wasn't the most cooperative subject ever, but she did manage to get some cute shots.

This one was our favorite! It's like a Johnson's magazine ad!
And here's another one of our cutie pie! :)

10 Weeks

10 weeks already! I can't believe it!

Here are some updates on Isaac:

*Got his shots yesterday and was such a brave boy. He actually gave a huge smile to the nurse beforehand and she said she'd never gotten a smile from a 2 month old at the clinic. She also joked that if we were ever going to get rid of him, to give her a call. ;) Isaac gave out a huge cry when he was poked (just two shots, not three, b/c there was a combo shot), but quickly settled down afterwards. He's been very sleepy and fussy since then. We've been giving him Tylenol (he has a slight fever and his legs are swollen). It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, thank goodness.

*Really working his neck muscles, loves to look around. He loves to be propped up to "sit," too.

*Focusing on his hands a lot, looking at them and grabbing toys with them.

*Making some new noises... my new favorite is this happy growling noise and of course, his goofy laugh.

*Wearing mostly 3-6 month old clothing now and will quickly outgrow his infant car seat. Oink, oink!

*Has finally started to eat less often during the day and is managing to stay on a pretty decent schedule, too.

*Still doing a great job in his crib!

Enjoy the new pictures!

Two mutts and a baby.
I'm smiling, he's cranky. LOL
Chillin' in the bouncey.
So happy to be showing of a new outfit from his Aunt Debbie :)
Not feeling 100% today :(
But, what's this? Mommy wants a smile?Hmm...
Okay!

My Poor Baby

The dreaded day has come. Isaac has to get his 2 month immunization shots today. I'm so NOT looking forward to them at all. In fact, I'm fairly sure I'll cry right along with him. The sad part is that he has no clue about this afternoon's unfortunate events... while my stomach has been in knots all day just thinking about a nurse poking my baby with a needle (three times!).

Full of Giggles

Yesterday, while Josh was trying to take our picture... Isaac and I got the giggles. Isaac was laughing his butt off at how silly Josh was being trying to get him to smile for the camera. Then, after hearing the baby's contagious laughter, I chimed in, too.

Go to the link below the video montage link (righthand side, all the way down) to see two short clips of Josh trying to capture our silly moment. If you listen closely, you can catch a few baby giggles... and here are a couple of more pictures of us.
Oh, how our little kiddo makes me smile everyday!

Good Weekend

Three nights in a row now in the crib! 8 hours each time! We had a good weekend (in addition to the good sleep!), too. Saturday, we hung out at home and then on Sunday, we went to church, out to lunch, did some shopping, and had a quick visit with our neighbors who have a new baby as well.

My favorite picture of Isaac and I so far... both smiling big smiles! :)
We couldn't resist putting the hat that came with this outfit sideways.
You know, to go with our little ganster's "gang signs."
He didn't like the hat, though. ;) This is the face he makes right before he whines about something.

New Car!

Laura let me borrow the blog to show our new car.... so, here is Josh's first post. I hope I don't disappoint the regulars with my car post.

Along with Isaac came the need for something bigger than our Ford Escort. So, we got a new car. But it isn't that simple. I was looking for a new job and will start it in March. The new job comes with a car allowance. So, we needed a car for work and for family. I believe I found the perfect mix. It is a Chevrolet HHR. It's neat- looking, fun to drive, gets great gas mileage, and Oh ya, it's a station wagon. The first couple of pictures are while the car is clean, but its dark. The last pictures are in good light but it is not clean (It has been way too cold to wash the car). So, you have to use your immagination a little.

We really like it. Our first road trip was to Grandma A's house. We even managed to bring the dogs.
Ours has the silverstone metallic paint. Laura liked the dark silver the best.
It has 16" Aluminum wheels.
Our litte station wagon. It is a 1LT with the 2.4L engine, Automatic.
I bought it on my birthday, right after signing the new job offer.
At home in the driveway. A brief rest, only 200,000 miles to go.

So, what do you think?

Mutt Check-in

It seems like everyone we talk to these days asks about our dogs. So, I thought I'd let you all know how Otto and Sophie are doing with a post! First of all, they are still doing very well with the baby. They both love to sneak kisses and sniff dirty diapers. We still love to spoil our mutts with tons of attention. They both seem to know that once Isaac is a sleep, I'm fair-game. They aren't stupid and rush over for cuddling, treats, and/or a trip outside to play once the kiddo is down for a nap. LOL They also love when Josh comes home from work and can give them some love.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the dogs are doing just fine. They've adjusted well to having Isaac around and the first thing they do when the come in from outside is go check on him. It's so cute. Enjoy the pictures!

Otto enjoying some time outside
That's Sophie Girl, way down the hill
Can you say spoiled? Yep, this was taken just a few weeks ago. Josh still manages to cuddle with the dogs now and then and they LOVE it, of course.
This is a hilarious picture I had to post. It's from when my mom brought her dogs Toby and Jacob (the black ones) to visit in December. My sister was giving them treats and all the dogs lined up in a row according to size on their own. ;)
This was last weekend at my mom's house.
Otto is a lazy guy.
While Soph's an attention hound and is constantly looking for love.
We took the Christmas tree out of the bay window and put a chair in it's place. The dogs still try to squeeze in for a view outside. As you can see, it's a tight fit.
Otto even naps there (He naps everywhere).
Mug shots. Sophie...
Otto
See? Life is still good for the dogs even after the baby. LOL
Otto hurt his paw outside this week and I made him wear a sock over it at first. It's getting better now... although he limps for sympathy (yet runs when he thinks we're not looking).
