Not Yet

So, I've had a rough day with my teething baby. Isaac has FOUR teeth ready to come in... FOUR very visible swollen parts on his gums, two up and two down! The bottom left is just soooo close. I keep thinking it will cut any second now. Isaac is off and on fussy. It seems to be the worse when he's tired. He hasn't slept through a night the last 4 nights. We are giving him teething rings, ice in his mesh feeder, cool drinks, tylenol, teething tablets, fingers to knaw on, and tons of extra cuddles. He has a runny nose on top of all the slobberll. and t his new little whine that just sounds so sad. Poor little guy!

Yum, Plums

Last week, Isaac tried plums for the first time. They were a bit bitter after being pureed. So, I added some bananas.
"Yum!" Much better. :)
He had plums mixed with peaches yesterday... also a yummy combo!

When.. Oh, When?

Any day now. That's what I keep thinking. Isaac is teething. His top and bottom gums are SO swollen and one "bump" on his bottom looks like it's going to be a tooth very soon! Our poor little guy has been teething off and on since he was 3 months old! C'mon, tooth! Let's get this over with already! Meanwhile, Isaac just wants to knaw on everything and is super fussy. :(

Definitely Cousins

While looking through old photo albums with family, Josh and I discovered that Isaac resembles our niece Isabella when she was a baby! She's now two... pictured at left.

Josh joked, "Wait... when did we dress Isaac in PINK?" before studying the pictures of Izzy closer. I didn't have the time to hunt down the perfect comparison pictures this morning. But, I think the scan below will prove our point. These two are definitely cousins, don't you think?

Sailor Series

Is this not the cutest little sailer you've ever seen?

He definitely gets MY vote! :)

(He had the giggles by the end of our photo shoot... LOL)

32 Weeks

Isaac is now 32 weeks old... 7 months and 2 weeks!

Updates on the "Punkin":

* Started "walking" around in his exersaucer this week (It rotates in a circle) and is pretty proud of himself.

* Spending more time on his tummy and isn't hating it as much. He even learned how to go from sitting to a tummy position.

* Loves to have me sing and do the hand movements to "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Patty Cake." He'll ususally flap his arms in excitement. :)

* Still being very vocal. He's been on a kick with his high-pitched squeal. I swear, it can be heard outside. LOL

* Plays independently on the floor. I just surround him with toys and he has a ball.

* Enjoys watching the shows "Little Einsteins, " "Jo Jo's Circus, " and "Jay Jay The Jet Plane."

* Seems to like fruits over veggies... I tried sneeking peas into his green beans and he didn't eat much. He loves bananas, apples, and peaches!

* Really working on figuring out toys as usual. We have these blocks that have objects inside of them. A few of them have little parts that move if you use your finger to spin the bottom. Isaac concentrates hard to put his chubby little fingers in the finger holes to create the spinning. He's so smart!

Enjoy the pictures!!!

First time sitting in the grass. He picked some of it and then wanted up. ;)
Baby Beethoven? Josh gave Isaac a haircut this week as well... I was SO nervous that he'd cut too much off. But, whew! It looks pretty good. :) "Talking" to Kermie
Thanks for checking in!

Dogamalog Update

This is a picture of Otto and Soph begging to go outside.... Otto gives sad eyes, while Soph tries to hypnotize you into figuring out what it is she wants.
Soph is in love with our new rug.... she barely uses the dog beds anymore. It's all about the rug. Sometimes I think she thinks we bought it for HER.
She's still doing great with Isaac... sometimes she'll even bring him her toys, hoping he might throw them and they can play fetch. Kisses happen throughout the day, of course. Anyone who knows Soph knows that she's a lover.
She's definitely needy when it comes to attention. Just as I get a minute to myself, she'll come over and beg for petting.
Of course, I usually give in.
Otto is still the same 'ole mutt. He barks at everything that's outside, likes to attack Soph while playing (She's rough back.), and doesn't really show too much interest in Isaac. He tends to act out when Josh is home because he's jealous and wants attention. It's fly season... and so, he hunts those down in our house for HOURS. Otto still uses the dog beds, but also likes the new rug. He's a HUGE fan of air-conditioning as well. Josh calls him our "leisure hound."
So, the mutts are doing well... enjoying lots of time outside this summer. When they come in from the heat, they eat some ice cubes. So spoiled! They also loved all the company we had.... especially the dog-lover variety. :)

What Fun

Here are some cute pictures from Mommy & Isaac's game of "Where is Isaac, Where Did He GO?!" game:
Hmm, I don't see a baby boy.
There he IS!
More, more... one more time! (reaching for the blanket)

More Food Adventures

Good news... solids are going well! Isaac is now eating two meals a day... breakfast and dinner. This is my new favorite face of his! He scrunches up his nose and makes a sniffing sound when he's excited. LOL!
I started giving him baby oatmeal cereal mixed with nonsweetened applesauce.... and...
He loves it! Yep! He gobbbles it right down! He even makes a "Mmmm" sound while eating it. :)
This weekend, he tried fresh peaches for the first time and LOVED them as well! Next up are plums and then sweet potatoes.

Green Beans, Oh, My!

This week, was the week of green beans. They went over much better than the sweet peas. He was very excited to try something new!
Although Isaac was first suprised by their texture and taste, he soon gobbled up half the bowl.

Daddy & Me

Isaac is very interested in HATS. He barely noticed that we put one on him here because all he wanted to do was stare at his daddy's. :)
Yep, Josh still likes to toss and lift Isaac up in the air... and Isaac loves it, of course. Here's an adorable "Super Baby!" picture I took this week.
Josh & Isaac :) :) :) Da boyz

Happy Anniversary, Blog

Today marks ONE year since I started this blog. My friend Jessica convinced me to try it. I said I would blog only if she promised to help me.... and she did a great job (Thanks, Jess!). When I started blogging, I was 6 days away from finding out if we were going to have a little boy or girl. "And Isaac Makes Three" wasn't even the name of it yet... I think I called it "I Wonder What I'll Call This Blog" or something equally as silly. I used the blog to document my pregnancy, preparation for the baby, and to share pictures of our newborn. Now, it's a great place for family and friends to get their daily dose of Isaac. :) If you ever want to visit old posts, they are listed by month in the archives. I've always enjoyed blogging and like to hear about how much people love visiting my site. THANK YOU to all my readers for making this blog a success!! 16, 192 visitors as of today!

31 Weeks

Isaac is now 31 weeks old... that's 7 months and 1 week!

Updates on our "little man":

* Outgrowing some of his 6-9 month clothing already. It's mostly due to his broad sholders and height. We even had to move his Jumperoo up to the 3rd level.

* Finds hiccups, sneezes, yawn, and burps very funny. He now giggles when I say, "God bless you" or "Sneezers" (a 'la Josh's family). The best thing is that when HE yawns, he does it like me now! Instead of a normal yawn, he turns his into more of a "ahh yaaaa yaaa awaayaaa." LOL at me trying to explain it. Bascially, he makes the yawn more dramatic and "talks" through it. My dad used to do it and I do, too. Hee, hee!

* Studies his toys in order to figure them out. He's also very strong. So, he picks them up and turns them over to see the backs.

* Loves to play his toy piano... it's a lifesaver sometimes when he's fussy because he's so into it right now.

* Still working on the sippy cup idea. He prefers to just knaw on the spout. Drinking out of a regular cup goes well most times. Other times, he makes me laugh by trying to lap out of it like a dog. LOL

* Enjoys spending time in his exersaucer... but, mostly because he can then reach his Leapfrog music table while in it. How creative!

* Squeals and laughs at our crazy mutts every day.

* Not napping all the horribly anymore. It's a daily battle, but not AS bad as it has been in the past.

* Extremely interested in water. He knows how to turn the faucet on in the sink during bathtime and when we went to a local greenhouse, Isaac and I looked at the fountains instead of plants.

* Loves to look at and touch his texture books... he has a few baby animal books that have fake fur for him to touch. I try to remember to say "gentle" so that when he pets a real animal (ie. Sophie), he doesn't freak her out. She's SO good with him though... even when he grabs her whiskers.

Enjoy the pictures!!!

He has the best smile. I wonder what it will look like with teeth... no teeth yet. No crawling yet either. But, after having 9 month old Cheyanna motoring through out home, I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet.

My Family

Not that it wasn't wonderful to see all of Josh's family this month... But, it was also great to see mine!

Isaac: Um, mommy... if you'll excuse me, I have other people who would like to hold me.
I thought this was a cute sister picture. :)
Isaac wants to know when you guys are coming back... he LOVES visitors!
