Dr. Ann

Yeah! The doctor's visit went very well yesterday. We both liked how even though the office was in a larger city, it was still small and felt homey. The practice has four doctors and was started by Dr. Pete and his wife Dr. Carol (Dr. Andy is the 4th doc). Isaac smiled at people in the waiting room as I filled out paperwork. The receptionist was friendly, patient, AND funny, too! My favorite person was probably the nurse. Afterall, isn't that who you usually spend the most time with at appointments? She was SOOO good with Isaac. He giggled as she played "peek-a-boo!" with him and even gave her a big hug when she picked him up. Stranger anxiety hit right after that, though, and he cried to go back to mom and dad. Isaac was weighed and measured and then we waited for Dr. Ann (only a few minutes!).

Dr. Ann is probably about 50 and was very "mom-like" if that makes sense. She does have three kids of her own and so she was very gentle and friendly with our baby. He gave her a few smiles and she checked his heartrate and eyes. The only thing he wasn't so happy about was when she checked inside his mouth... poor little guy's bottom tooth we're waiting on is causing him pain. Anyway, the appt. went well. She said it sounds like he's doing great. We talked about his backwards crawling and she said, "He may never have a normal crawl if that is how he can get around." She went through a list of all the different ways she's heard of babies "crawling" and that made me feel better about our silly boy. Both the nurse and the doctor commented on how much Isaac looks like Josh as I said, "I know! No fair." Overall, we were very happy with the new practice. While I missed seeing Dr. M, I think we'll be happy with the new place. Next time, I'd like to see one of the other doctors just so we can meet them, too.
