C'mon

Even if the doc says it's perfectly normal and okay, it still bothers me that Isaac has been crawling backwards for a month. Most of the time, he gets where he wants to go. As you've seen from the pictures, he will also somemtimes get stuck under the furniture! So, I thought I'd try and lure him out of under the table instead of helping him out his predicament.

I lined up some tempting objects such as a tower of stacking cups (Oh! He just loves to knock down towers!), the remote, the phone, and the ever-popular beach ball.
He got so frustrated and cried his little heart out (Notice in the background that Otto didn't care and just wanted to nap, LOL).
Mommy: C'mon, buddy! You can do it!
Isaac: Whaaaaaaaaaaah!
As it turns out, he gave up after lots of crying. His arms are so strong. I know they are because he lifts heavy things all the time and he's great at "army crawling" sideways. (sigh) I guess I should not be such a mean mommy and just help him out next time.In other news, he's been STANDING really well by holding on and playing with his Leapfrog table. We just hover nearby for the inevitable tumbles. He also loves when we hold his hands up to help him balance on our laps. Getting to a kneeling position is pretty easy for him now, too. Maybe he'll just start standing and cruising furniture instead of crawling the traditional way? By the way, he's not behind at all in the crawling milestone. Average is 7-10 months and he started his own version at 8 months. I just wish he would move forwards already! ;)
