23 Weeks

Isaac is now 23 weeks old.

It's been a fairly busy week. Here are some updates on the punkmeister:

* Gaining a lot of weight. I know it's not completely accurate. But, I weighed myself and then myself while holding him. The difference was 19 1/2 lbs.! He's quickly growing out a lot of his 3-6 month clothing, but is still in size 3 diapers.

* Looks very intently at facial expressions and tries to impersonate them. Sometimes his reactions to my silly faces make me laugh SO hard. In return, he'll laugh and then we both just giggle and giggle.

* Becoming a Houdini. He used to be able to stay put in all his littel baby contraptions (swing, bouncey, stroller, etc.). But, now... he can get OUT. He arches his back and kicks off to move where he wants to go or he'll lean forward and tumble. Not very graceful, but he's a determined little boy. So, we strap him into everthing now and he still tries to escape.

* Becoming very strong! From a lying down position, he pulls his head and shoulders up. He even completely sat up on his own from a reclined position the other day. ALL he wants to do is sit up now. We prop his chubby hands in his lap to balance him and he'll sit for about 20 seconds before plopping over. I giggle everytime he falls because it looks like someone just pushes him over. ;)

* Shaking and grabbings like a litle maniac. Once he gets a hold of something that makes noise, he'll shake it like it's his job. He is also still a big kicker. We place toys near his feet that make noise and he thinks it's the greatest thing ever.

* Blowing lots of zerberts and sticking his tongue out, such a silly boy!

* Found another show on tv that he enjoys, "Clifford The Big Red Dog" on PBS. Almost all of the characters on the are dogs... and he's very interested in dogs. I'll post pics soon of him with Sophie.

* Loves to be tickled and enjoys "This Little Piggy" with his toes. His favorite songs right now are "You Are My Sunshine," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and the Laurie Berkner song, "I Know A Chicken."

"What's that? You say you're going to try and get me to take a nap?"
"Nooooooo!"
He does everything with much vigor these days. His favorite thing to "eat" lately is a blanket. Ha, ha!
