Weekly Update #47

Isaac is now 47 weeks old!

Updates on our busy boy:

* Enjoys sharing his food and drinks with us. It's hard to turn down a soggy Cheerio when he's so enthusiastic about sharing. :)

* Drove us crazy turning the tv off and on and so we put our ottoman in front of the tv. He tries soooo hard to reach the button, but can't. This week, he made the connection between the remote control and the tv. He'll pick up the remote and look at the tv. Hee, hee!

* Claps his hands when he hears the song, "If You're Happy and You Know It."

* Loves to watch "Play With Me Sesame" with me so I'll sing along and do the movements with him. His favorite characters are Ernie, Cookie Monster, and the funny, hairy monsters. Prairie Dawn's art show is a still a big hit, too. The last couple of weeks, he's started to like two other shows on Noggin.... The Backyardigans and The Upside Down Show.

* Stands and cruises the furniture a lot during the day. No walking yet. Who knows when that will happen... but, he does like to push a little stool of our's to walk behind it. He will also hold onto my hands and take a few steps.

* Enjoys opening and closing cabinet doors (Related to Uncle Dan, perhaps?) ;)

* Showing some signs of separation anxiety. It's frustrating when I need a break in the evenings to get some stuff done... but, then he cries whenever I leave the room. He also fusses and tries to crawl after Josh when Josh has to leave for work in the morning. :(

* Doing "okay" with naps for now. Not perfectly, but not horribly either. We are thankful that he's been sleeping just a little bit longer at nighttime, too.

* Eating like a crazy fool these days. His new favorite veggie is corn and he was very fond of the roasted potatoes we had for dinner last night.

* Crawls holding onto toys now, whether they are in his hands or in his mouth. This week, he's been travelling with these little duck finger puppets from his Grandma and Grandpa W. I keep finding them all over the place.

Yeah! It's not winter yet.... we've gotten some warmer temps this week and Isaac got to play outside.
