Weekly Update #46

Isaac is now 46 weeks old, 10 1/2 months old!

Updates on our busy boy:

* Crusing on all the furniture! He is holding on with only one hand now... it won't be long before he's standing all by himself. Sometimes, he makes us giggle by bouncing up and down while he's standing. It looks like he's dancing. :) He also enjoys climbing all over US.

* Crawling all over the place as well. He loves to empty toy containers and if you leave the gate open (the one that corralls him into the living room), he makes a beeline for it. It's hilarious because he stops right at the open gate, turns around to see if you're watching, and smiles. Lately, he has this evil little laugh that he does. He goes, "Ahhhh ha HA!" if he pulls up on something especially tricky or manages to get a hold of a coveted object (ie, the remote).

* Holding onto toys as he crawls and pulls up now. The most notably discovery this week is bringing one of us a book to read. How can you turn down a baby with a book? ;)

* Enjoys playing with his Baby Tad frog stuffed animal. It teaches colors, shapes, and songs. I must kiss Isaac a gazillion times each day because his favorite part? Hee, hee... it's the lip shape on the frog's face. When you push it, it makes a kissy sound and says, "I love you!" Isaac pushes that part over and over and smiles. :)

* Waving ALL the time now! When he hears me talking on the phone and I say "Hi!," he waves. When he hears someone say "Hi!" on the tv, he waves. He's just a waving machine!!

* Still very much into the entertainment center. Josh took the doors off for my sanity. Isaac got hurt on them again and just wouldn't stay off them. His new thing is turning the tv off and on. Oh, boy!

* Interested in small objects. He hunts down little flecks of dust bunnies, carpet lint, dog biscuit crumbs, stray Cheerios, etc. When he finds a treasure, I know, because he gets very quiet. I'll ask him what he found and he holds it up in the air... that is, if I catch him before he eats whatever it is.

* Started really piling in the food this week, more than before. I'm astonished at how much this kid can shove in! His favorite snacks lately are peach & mango applesauce, string cheese, and Gerber veggie crackers.

* Teething the last few days. Sometimes I wonder how in the world he can drool SO much. I think he's working on another top tooth. But, his mouth hurts and so he won't let me check.
