Not For Us
Only a few minutes to post because Isaac will up from his nap any second now. I'm still working on Isaac's sleep issues and this afternoon, things went horribly. I made a huge mistake. Some of you may know the Ferber method of sleep training... it basically involves letting your child "cry it out" in order to self soothe and fall asleep on their own. Well, I tried it. I was even in the room with Isaac for part of it because I could barely stand the tears, placing my hand on him to let him know he was okay. But, OH MY GOSH. He cried SO hard that he actually threw up. I was so upset and realized that the method was just not for me. Some people would say well, you didn't do it right or maybe he's just too young for that yet. I don't care if I have to rock my little boy to sleep until he's 3 years old, I won't let him get sick again like that again. Please don't flame me for trying. I had been trying to get him to sleep for an hour before I tried it. I don't have time to type out all that we have tried already to figure out how to get him to sleep well during the day. Just know that it's been an issue.I've ordered this book and am hoping that the techniques in it are more in line with my parenting style. It's supported by the nursing website I go to and gets rave reviews from lots of moms.
I do know that Isaac is just not getting enough sleep period... not enough quality sleep during the day at all. So, I'm hoping to learn more about how to get him on a sleep schedule and hopefully we'll all be happy campers soon. We'll see!
Pictures to be posted soon... lots to share from our Easter weekend when I have more time online (busy washing his bedding after the incident this morning. I feel like a horrible mom today!).

I will have to talk with you about how they recommend getting the little ones to sleep. Isabella doesn't take quality naps and fights sleeping at night, only sleeping 7-8 hours in a 24 hour period. Mommy needs sleep too.
Our little guy is very luck to have you, You're a great mommy!
Laura-please let me know what you think of the book. I'll be needing tips and advice once my girls arrive! I hope things work themselves out!! Sorry you had such a rough morning :-( You are not a bad mommy! Katy
I do not think you are a bad mommy!!
You are not a bad Mommy, so stop thinking that. Sometimes you have to try everything to find out what will work for you.
Chey and I have had many sleeping battles, my method is I don't fight her anymore, I just tire the girl out. LOL Her patterns change monthly aprox. Right now I like her pattern, next month who knows. LOL.
don't be to hard on your self us 1st time moms have to try everything right:)
Thanks, everyone. :)
I highly recommend "The Baby Whisperer" Books by Tracy Hogg - much more in keeping with common sense and a mother's instincts.
You are soo not a horrible mom!!
