Weekly Update #53

Isaac is now just over a year old!

Updates on our cutie pie:

* Learning new things each and every day! We're still working on body parts. He now knows eyes, ears, nose, mouth, head, tummy, and foot! It's fun to watch him point them out on animals in his books and on us. Josh especially loves when Isaac lifts his daddy's shirt to point to his tummy.... LOL!

* Loves to read books and will turn the pages if you get them ready by lifting them up a little. It's his cue to turn. ;)

* Barely holding on while cruising the furniture these days. He was holding onto the couch and then we were practicing body parts. After he pointed to his head, I clapped for him . He got down from the couch just so he could sit on the floor and applaud for himself, too. It was hilarious.

* Squeals and chases Sophie around the living room. She runs and he crawls faster and faster. He enjoys this game very much, but she does not.

* Says the word "dog" a lot now and when he gets really excited about the dogs, he just says, "gggg ggggg gggg gggg!!" He's found the "g" sound. Sometimes, he'll answer "yep!" when I ask him a question.

* Had his blood drawn and received his 2nd flu shot this week. Poor little guy! Thank goodness all the poking is done for a few months. Cuddles from mommy and stickers took away the pain.

* Likes to try and kick his tray off his high chair, little stinker! He's also figured out how to unbuckle his safety belt. So, he requires complete supervision while eating.

* Plays in the kitchen, especially in "his cupbard" full of pots, plans, tupperware, spoons, and cups.

* Tried whole milk for the first time and is drinking a few ounces a day. I had thought the search for a sippy cup that he'll take was over. But, now he's refusing to drink from the Nuby's. (sigh) He's just using the cups that spill for now. His snacks have increase from two to three this week as well.

* Likes to color with crayons and pens, especially in mommy's notebooks and inside birthday cards for friends and family.

* In good news, he's sleeping well! We've moved his bedtime to a little earlier and he's getting up in the morning at the same time. He's also taking a really good morning nap and a decent afternoon nap. Wahoo!

Enjoy the new pictures!!!

"What?" One cool dude
We delivered some homemade goodies and Christmas cards to our neighbors this week. It was great to visit with lots of them. Isaac especially liked visiting with our friends who have a little boy close to his age, CJ.
The two of them had lots of fun playing together.
These pictures are gross. But, I had to share them anyway!
What a messy eater!!
Thanks for checking in!
