A Diaper Story
We've been long-time fans of Pampers diapers. As a newborn, Isaac wore whatever diapers we received as gifts. We soon realized that not every brand/style of diaper is created equally. Pampers Swaddlers were our diaper of choice for our son. They seemed to fit him well and work the best. I had plans to use discount diapers like Luvs... but, yuck! Just not worth the money we would save if they didn't work. Next, we moved onto Pampers Cruisers. They were the next step up when Isaac outgrew the Swaddlers. Buying in big bulk boxes and using coupons allowed us to use the style we liked. Next up came Pampers Baby Dry... a step down from Cruisers, but still worked okay. But, then (insert happy music coming to a schreeching halt here)... we started getting leaks! Yuck... changing Isaac's clothes and sheets all the time was just not fun. Was it the new, cheaper diapers? Maybe. Nope. We went back to Cruisers and still had leaks. So, we've said "So, long!" to Pampers, my friends. I read online that Huggies are recommended for both babies who are hefty and for boys. Hey (raises hand in air), I have a hefty baby boy! I broke down and bought a box of Huggies Supreme and love them! No leaks so far at all and he's been wearing them for three days. For the record, it wasn't a quantity issue (as in, too much in the diaper) that was making Isaac leak. The Pampers were plenty big. It was all about the FIT now that he's more mobile. To all the girls in Josh's family who swear by Pampers, I'm sorry I've broken the mold. Isaac is in Huggies!
Edited to add: He leaked. Wearing Huggies. Just after I finished posting, I went to get him from his nap. Wet pj's, wet bedding. :(

We found the same problem when Chey was 3 months old and said so long to pampers. The swaddlers we good but pampers baby dry leaked all the time.
We have not had a problem with huggies and have been using them for quite awhile, we even used the newborn ones too. found that after she out grew the pampers swaddlers huggies were a bit bigger and fit better in those than in size one, so she was in newborn for awhile.
So Welcome to the Huggies Side.LOL
P.S. we liked LUVS but they are more expensive here than any other diaper, I see there comercial and wonder where they get off saying they are cheaper. Are they really cheaper around you guys??
Forgot you used Huggies, Jamie. I hope the leaks are few and far between b/c I thought they seemed to fit Isaac better.
Luvs are the cheapest here, minus store brands.
Wet sheets-yuck! And what a pain for you! Hopefully this last leak was a one time deal! I flip between pampers and huggies- good luck with the "great diaper search"!!
We use the huggies baby fit.
We have had no leaks since we turned to huggies. I hope that leak was a one time deal. I know what a pain it is to change the sheets.
If Luvs are cheaper there and you still have problems with huggies, I'd give them a try, we liked them had no leaks and smelled good too. LOL.( I'm wierd I know they smelled like baby powder, unlike the other diapers) Just expensive round these parts.
My kids, niece and nephew all use/did use Huggies. Tried Pampers once & Peter broke out in a rash & there's a smell I couldn't stand (aloe?). Tried Luvs once, but didn't like it. Luvs is cheaper here too, maybe a midwest thing. Even with pull-ups, we went Huggies. I get Huggies coupons & samples monthly...I am working on getting Kiersten potty trained by 24mths, she seems interested already. Hard to believe my nephew potty trained by 18mths!
They redesigned the Baby Dry and so that's why we tried them. FYI, Pampers also smell good. Luvs didn't fit Isaac well as a newborn and we hated that they weren't very stretchy. I think we'll stick with the Huggies for now and see how they do.
Good luck with the potty training, Lammone!
My nieces always used Walmart brand diapers and they always worked great. I've never known them to leak.
I prefer the ones without poop in them, who makes those? They smell the best also.
