After

It's been about a month now that we've had the hardwood exposed in the living room (and our dining room, actually.) Here's the floor next to our new area rug.
All we have done is sweep it and use the Swiffer on it so far. There are only a couple of rough spots and we hope those will look better once we polish the floor. Here's what the room looks like NOW!
I tried to get Soph off the rug. But, she insisted on being a model.
The hardwood really opens up the room a lot and is much eaiser to take care of, too (with two dogs and a husband).
The carpet is 8x10 feet and is a very thick, soft carpet bound on all edges. (Otto joined the pictures, LOL)
We have lots of long term plans for room (curtains, new furniture, etc.). But, for now... it's in need of new paint. The color we picked is a soft khaki brown, close to the color of the carpet.
And interestingly enough, it's named "Norman Brown" from Sherwin Williams. Those who know us well, know that our dogs have middle names. Otto is "Otto Norman" and so we are calling the paint color "Otto Norman Brown." It almost matches! ;)
