A Special Day

Today was my first official Mother's Day. Last year, I was pregnant at this time and got a few cards as a "mommy-to-be." But, today was the real deal. My card from Josh and Isaac was simple and sweet and I received two gift certificates (one for a really cool bookstore and another for clothes shopping). After a morning relaxing at home, we headed to church where all the moms received flowers and a special blessing. It felt really strange to be standing up for applause and even more strange to have people tell ME to have a Happy Mother's Day!

After church, we were on a mission to find somewhere to eat for lunch. As you know, life with a baby can be unpredictable. Josh hadn't made any reservations due to that fact. I figured that we'd have a better chance getting into a more typical guy place to eat and so I suggested Smokey Bones. I was right in my assumption and we didn't have to wait at all for a table. We enoyed a yummy lunch... delicious baby back ribs! We then spent the afternoon doing some shopping in the Polaris area. Josh splurged and got me some Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory chocolates.

It was a really fun day and if I were to count the amount of times Isaac smiled at me today... I'd guess it was nearly 50 times! He definitely makes it being a mommy a joy.

Lunch out with mommy & daddy "Cheese!!"
We love to be silly together!
Thanks for a memorable 1st Mother's Day, cutie pie!
