Hair Loss
I'm going bald. Okay, maybe not bald... but, I'm losing A TON of hair. I have little patches of baldness up by my temples and above my ears! I'm constantly shedding and it's soooo annoying! Isaac almost always has a piece of hair on his clothing or in his chubby fingers. Gross!
In case you think I'm crazy, this is completely normal. Read on...
"Many new moms are surprised to find themselves shedding more hair than usual sometime in the first few months after giving birth, but it's perfectly normal. And there's no need to panic. You won't go bald. In fact, your hair should be back to normal by your baby's first birthday.
Here's what's going on. Normally, about 85 to 95 percent of the hair on your head is growing and the other 5 to 15 percent is in a resting stage. After the resting period, this hair falls out (often while you're brushing or shampooing your hair) and is replaced by new growth. The average woman sheds about 100 hairs a day.During pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage so there are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker, more luxuriant tresses. But after you give birth, your estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage — and that means more hair coming out in the shower or on the brush. This unusual shedding will taper off and your hair will be back to its pre-pregnancy thickness about six to 12 months after you give birth."
Six to twelve months? I'll be cleaning out the shower drain forever! Josh told me last week that I'm shedding worse than our dogs. LOL If you're a mommy, do you remember how long your hair loss lasted after giving birth?

Interesting. I haven't noticed any hair loss ( any more than usual).
But, then again my hormones are not normal, not even sure if I have any. LOL
I lost a ton of hair & it finally tapered off the past 6 weeks...so roughly aout 10 1/2 after Kiersten was born. I was pulling out chunks of hair in the shower. It was really gross and we had to vacuum all the time. Luckily I have a ton of hair anyway so I couldn't see any bare spots on my head. My hair also grew down to my butt, I had 3 inches taken off last month, but it is still long.
