Ouch!

Well, I survived. The fasting wasn't so bad yesterday, but the orange drink tasted like CRAP (imagine flat orange pop with a whole cup of extra sugar poured in it). The nurse who drew my blood had a difficult time and I have battle wound bruises as proof. For the record, I've never had a hard time giving blood and she also claims that she hardly ever misses. But, that horrible nurse tried two times on each arm before she got me pricked. Then, the needle popped out (sorry if you're reading this, Steph). She tried once more on my right arm with no success and then opted to use this special kind of needle on my left arm (after rubbing the area with alcohol for a nice burn). I felt the needle moving around in my freakin' vein while she tried getting the vial filled up. Needless to say, I am glad the rest of my doctor's appointment went better.

Blood pressure and all that were normal and I've only gained 3 lbs. in the last month. So, that brings my pregnancy total up to 12 lbs! Not bad at all! Isaac's heartbeat was found right away and sounds healthy and strong at 138 beats per minute. We got to meet Dr. F and he is very professional, helpful, and friendly. He did freak me out a bit when he said, "Before you know, you'll have your baby!" The nurse also told us in a excited voice, "You're more than halfway there now!!" We were very happy to schedule our next and final ultrasound for Oct. 20th. I'll be 32 weeks along at the point.

Results from the glucose test should be in later today or early tomorrow. I'll post an update!

Sorry to hear about all the sticking! No matter how many times I have bloodwork done, it never gets easier! (or less painful!)

You need to have a disclaimer next time you talk about needles or blood, Laura. Somthing like -

WARNING: Stephanie and other wusses who faint easily should not read this post.
