Our First Days Home

Just a look back at the beginning of it all! Below are some pictures taken during the first two days that Isaac was home! Enjoy!

Our first days are pretty much a blur now... LOL! Josh and I do remember a few things, though...

*When we arrived home, my family and Josh's dad and stepmom Brenda were there waiting for us. In fact, Josh's dad carried Isaac into the house! My mom and sisters had a big lunch waiting for us and a yummy "Welcome Home" cake for the baby (too bad he couldn't have any!).

*I was extremely sore and found it very hard to walk. My incision ached everytime I tried getting up... thank goodness for my pain meds!

*Nursing became very difficult because at the hospital, I had been nursing laying down in the reclined bed. I rested the baby for the first time on my belly and tried cradling him to nurse... ouch! Again, my incision hurt quite a bit.

*Josh took care of most of the baby's diapering needs because it was so hard for me to get up and around. I didn't even change the baby until after we were home for a couple of days!

*The mutts got to meet Isaac for the first time... and it went very well. I'll do a post on our two dogs and the baby soon. Just know that we are pleased at how well Otto and Soph are adjusting.

*Josh slept on the living room floor the first couple of nights and I slept on the couch. We moved upstairs to our bedroom after a few nights (when I felt brave enough to conquer the stairs) and Isaac started sleeping in his pack and play (He naps in his basinette downstiars).

*My feet became disgustingly swollen! My doc said all the water I had retained during pregnancy was trying to find a way out and that the swelling was also a reaction to all the meds I had been given at the hospital. Even Josh's big socks were too small for my huge monster feet!

*Josh's sister Heather, her husband AJ, and their daughter Isabella came to visit the next day to meet the baby!

*Lastly, after everyone cleared out and went home... we got to hold Isaac and spend some time with him (besides just when nursing or changing his diaper, lol). It was so crazy to be left alone... but, at the same time, we were so happy to be out of the hospital and be home!
