Grandma Hit the Jackpot
The story behind the post: When we found out we were having a boy, my mom actually said, "Oh, no! A boy!" It wasn't because she was sad about having a grandson. It was simply because she had been collecting and hoarding "baby stuff" for us for almost two years and most of what she had was GIRL stuff! My mom had three daughters and so she naturally picked up great bargains for us at garage sales, finding adorable like-new dresses and cute onesies with flowers and hearts because that's what she knew. Oops!
Now, to be fair, my mom had also picked up a few boy items at this point and tons of unisex items as well. She had found tons of awesome deals for us on things like our bouncey seat, pack and play, and exersaucer. But, she was completely expecing us to have a "Julia" instead of an "Isaac." So, I went through the boy and unisex items we had and let her know what we still needed. The ongoing joke for a couple of weeks was that our little boy would just have to live in his pj's because that's mostly what we had so far! Onto the good news:
Yesterday, my mom and sisters had a wonderful day at garage sales! They went to some street sales and got TONS of great stuff for our little guy! I am so excited to see it all. They showed me a few things over the webcam when they got home and WOW! Tons of cute boy clothes in great shape and a lot of the adorable brand, Carter's!
So, Grandma hit the jackpot yesterday and I am so thankful for her!! The little girl clothes are going away in storage in hopes to use them in the future. For now, we are feeling a bit more prepared for Isaac thanks to my mom. Of course, now I'm wondering if we have TOO many clothes for him!
